By the look of this recent image from Dean Decas, the skiing is still good in Europe…
And while it is turning into bike season in the US, you won’t get another chance to shop for skis this cheap until next spring – so get yourself gear’ed up on a discount now.
Earlier this spring we posted an edit of Skiershop.com Team Riders Will Hibbs and Tyler Duncan shredding with The Main Idea crew. Here is The Main Idea’s fourth installment in their “Nothing Good” webseries.
Skiershop Mountain Sports and Bike is proud to add Scott Bikes to its growing line of high-end bikes. 10% of all profits from all bike sales will continue to be added to the Cady Hill Forest Project fund.
Following a small burst of winter last week, and now another heat wave, members of the Skiershop.com staff couldn’t be happier with the recent arrival of Scott Bikes to the arsenal of high-end bikes that the shop offers.
“Scott is a true innovator of new technology,” notes Mike Thomas, buyer and store manager for Skiershop.com. “Featuring on-the-fly adjustable suspension, the lightest production bikes made, and a full product line of road, mountain, commuter and kids bikes, along with clothing and accessories – they have everything to outfit the most demanding cyclist,” explains Mike.
The shop is carrying a full array from Scott, most notably featuring the Scale 29, a full suspension 29’er, the CR1 Team Road Bike, Voltage FR 20, and the Genius adjustable travel trail bike.
Partners Bobbie Roehm and Daniel Burgess of Skiershop.com and Bikestowe.com are donating 10% of the profits from all bike sales to assist in saving the Cady Hill Forest network of trails and give back to the riding community. Bikestowe.com is organizing weekly rides where everyone is free to donate to the cause and enjoy a great trail-ride, the group leaves from Skiershop.com at 580 Mountain Road, Stowe Vermont. Give a the shop a call and enjoy great riding all season long: 1-800-996-8398.
From our good friends at High Fives Foundation.
April 17, 2012 – TRAiNS 2012 was the fifth annual freestyle ski & snowboard contest that the High Fives Foundation has put on in the North Lake Tahoe area. Volkl Skis, Marker Bindings, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley supported this event that brought Nick Goepper, Parker White, Michelle Parker, Danny Toumarkine, Chris Logan and 25 other amazing skiers and snowboarders out to compete. Aside from the action on the hill, TRAiNS is an event that gives back by donating to select charitable organizations.
Custom-made BigTruck Hats, music from the Silver Boombox Thief, Jamie LaValle’s world famous chicken wings, food from the Full Belly deli, and a world-class competition venue produced by Crux Events rounded out an amazing day!
Three teams of ten (skiers and snowboarders) were picked by winners of the Best Male, Best Female and Best 540 (degree rotation) in the first half of the competition. The event’s namesake TRAiNS was on display in the second half as the team competition ensued with each team of ten popping off the six different features in succession.
Charitable Contributions Given $5,000 Total: Three charities (out of five) were chosen by the winning competitors to donate to…
- Best Male: Nick Goepper donated $1,000 to the Reeve Irvine Research Center
- Best Female: Marta Krusell donated $1,000 to the Shane McConkey Foundation
- Best 540: Andy McDowell donated $1,000 to SkiD.U.C.K.
- Best TRAiNS Team: Green Team donated $2,000 to the Shane McConkey Foundation

The Skiershop and Bike Stowe crew headed out yesterday evening for our first Friday evening group ride of the season! We just did a quick ride through the town loops, as many of us still have shaky early season legs. Many smiles and high fives were shared. Check out the video (this was my first attempt at editing with Adobe Premiere Pro so forgive the lack or color correction, image stabilizing, etc.) and make sure you come join next Friday’s ride!!
With the 2011-12 ski season wrapping up as we head towards the end of April, the Skiershop.com Team is coming off their inaugural season. This winter the crew emerged with top finishes in big mountain and jib contests, and slapped an infinite amount of high fives while shredding powder.
While Skiershop.com has always been helping young athletes and local pros, this season marked the first time the shop set up a program and signed skiers that are a good representation for Skiershop.com and the sport of skiing. “Skiershop.com couldn’t be happier on how the team came together this season. Not only did they ski well, but they all had a blast in the process,” notes Team Manager Erme Catino.
Skiershop.com would like to congratulate Ashley Maxfield who rocked the whole season on the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour along with Louise Lintilhac. Ashley placed third overall for the season and Louise rallyed at the last event in Kirkwood, CA and took fifth overall for the season.
On the East Coast, Colby Vavolotis won the Ski The East Freeride Tour, with Noah Ranallo coming home with two Cliff Huxtable Big Air Awards. Jib riders Will Hibbs and Tyler Duncan proved from coast to coast that they could hang with the big guns in park and pipe. Both Tyler and Will made the finals at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour in Snowbasin, UT, and had strong appearances with fellow team rider Jeff Neagle at the Dumont Cup in Sunday River, ME, and Carinthia Open in Mount Snow, VT. Both Hibbs and Duncan filmed with Meathead Films and Ski The Eastalong with riders Jeff Neagle, Erme Catino, Louise Lintilhac, and Colby Vavolotis. In addition, several Skiershop.com riders were coaching the next generation of rippers locally.
The Skiershop.com Pro-Team is a grassroots effort to promote the shop, it’s values and the adventures we all participate in. From emerging top pros to local rippers and coaches, the team comprises a vast array of talent and experience. Skiershop.com is looking forward to seeing their team members on the summer glaciers and shredding in South America.

We here at Skiershop/Bike Stowe know you love new gear just as much as we do, so without further ado, here are some more pictures of new gear! We are expecting to receive product from Giro, Jett, Intense, Sugoi, and more this week and next so keep checking back for more pictures! Also, as more and more bikes are assembled, we’ll be posting them too. Keep your fingers crossed for some dry weather so we can get back out on the trails! We are also currently in the middle of completely overhauling our bike service department. Tools have been stripped from the walls and our bike mechanics are hard at work doubling as carpenters and painters. The whole process should be done by the end of the week, so come check out the new look! Check back soon for an introduction and interview with our new head bike mechanic! He’s well known in the area, so there’s a good chance you’ll recognize him! Happy Biking! -Jeff
Skiershop.com riders Will Hibbs and Tyler Duncan continue to keep showing up in the ski media. Between major contests and edits they have emerged as the top jib riders on the Skiershop.com Team. Here is the latest Main Idea ”Nothing Good” Episode featuring Will and Tyler.
With Stowe closing a few weeks earlier than usual, trails dry, and unseasonably warm temperatures, we here at Bike Stowe/Skiershop have been getting geared up for bike season in a big way. New gear is arriving daily, and our mechanics can hardly keep up with all the bikes to build! Come stop by the shop to check out what we’ve got in store for you this season!
We’ll be posting more and more pictures as we receive new gear from all our vendors, so keep checking back for more awesome product! We also will be starting Skiershop evening group rides (weather permitting as always) this coming Friday! These rides focus on fun, not speed, and are free to anyone who would like to come join! We have demo bikes available from Giant and Intense as well. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call the shop. These rides are a great way to learn local trails and meet local riders. And if you’re lucky maybe even indulge in a post-ride beverage or two.
As with the change of seasons, we have priced all our winter gear to move! Outerwear, skis, boots, etc, all with hefty discounts to leave some room in your pockets for the summer toys too. As always, you can check up on what we have in stock at Skiershop.com
We hope to see you out on the trails and here in the shop soon! Happy Spring!
