Looking for an incredible way to end your ski season? There is still time to sign up for Skiershop’s trip to ski and ride in Chamonix, France this spring! The dates are approaching and considering the mixed weather we’ve had this season in the Northeast, you can bet that we’re really looking forward to it! We’re planning three 1-week sessions again this year – the first of which begins on Saturday, March 29, the second April 5th and third April 12th Our contacts in the Chamonix Valley just reported that the conditions are all time! So it looks like we’re on track for another amazing trip. We had an epic time with 6 fresh feet last year, and let’s not forget that every moment off the mountain can be just as memorable in downtown Chamonix.
We’re getting a lot of interest in all three weeks for this April, and it’s time to get on board! We’ll be bringing along a handful of local experts and friends. Dean Decas, our intrepid guide and local liaison will be on-hand again to provide support and help find those secret stashes. Skiershop’s Dan Burgess, Mike Thomas, Allarie Sullivan, all Chamonix veterans, are also slated to return. Local Stowe legend, Chris Strong, will also be returning, and has recruited a few of his cohort. With all those hooligans around you’ll surely be motivated to rip up the mountain and go big as everyone cheers each other on.
If you’ve ever wondered about skiing or riding in the Alps, this is the perfect opportunity to get in on the trip of a lifetime. We take care of all the travel, lodging and guiding logistics. Our connections run deep in Chamonix and the surrounding regions of Verbier, Switzerland and Courmeyeur, Italy. Dean has been in Chamonix for the past 20 winters, Adam will be returning for his 7th year this spring, and our friends and guides are natives in the area. With hookups like ours, a wicked good time is basically guaranteed.
So don’t miss this opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful and exciting winter sports regions in the world. with the unequaled skiing, mountaineering, and regional knowledge and experience of a crew that only Skiershop can assemble, it truly is a trip of a lifetime.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us anytime. Our email and phone number are listed on our web site, http://www.skiershop.com. More details on this year’s trip can be found at: http://www.skiershop.com/chamonix-trip. Now get pumped! We hope to see you soon!
By the look of this recent image from Dean Decas, the skiing is still good in Europe…
And while it is turning into bike season in the US, you won’t get another chance to shop for skis this cheap until next spring – so get yourself gear’ed up on a discount now.
Even though the West Coast is gearing up for some more snow, let’s face it, it has been a low tide year thus far in North America. Which is why many of our friends are heading to Europe this spring. You should too…
We fully endorse this trip and approve this message…
Our good friend Dean Decas has been getting the goods in Chamonix, France. Last week he sent us an update with him shredding pow and chilling with Seth Morrison, and the other day he sent us additional eye candy. Here is Deano living it up in Europe, and shredding on his new Black Crows Skis, pretty rad! – Erme
A close friend to the Skiershop family, Dean Decas finally returned to the mountains in his heart, Chamonix, France. Dean spends his summers in New England, however the snow came with a fury in Europe and he quickly took off to Cham where he ski mountaineers and guides clients to the goods. Here are a few photos of Dean’s recent excursions. – Erme
About Dean: Dean Decas is a ski mountaineering ninja and in 2003, Ski Magazine rated him as one of top 100 ski instructors in the U.S. Want to ski with him? For bookings, call Dean: 508-479-1756 or email him at Greekski@aol.com

A few weeks ago our friend and X-Team Member Dean Decas was at Skiershop – remember that X-Team crew… John and Dan Egan, Dean Decas, and Rob, Eric, and Adam DesLauriers. He and I were speaking about Chamonix, where he resides during the winter, and he mentioned that his friend was skiing/guiding with the Oakley crew filming for Seth Morrison’s new movie “The Ordinary Skier.”
Dean is always excited to talk about skiing, and hearing about the crew’s run down the North Face of the Aiguille du Midi, I was super stoked to see it – though wanted more after seeing the teaser for Seth’s new film.
Here is a video filmed by Bjarne Sahlen regarding the crew’s run down the Col du Plan, and it gives a sneak peak of what “The Ordinary Skier” is all about. I personally can’t wait to see this movie!
