It has been a busy past few weeks of traveling, snowstorms, and then meltdowns… Through it all the Skiershop Team has been absolutely crushing it and having a blast at the same time. Here’s a quick recap on what has been going down – we at Skiershop couldn’t be prouder of our riders this season!
Our dynamic female duo of Louise Lintilhac and Ashley Maxfield took their skills to the Subaru North American Freeskiing Championships in Snowbird, Utah. Ashley took home 7th place, and unfortunately Weeze took home a black eye. The pictures looked scary, and we are glad that she is ok. Next up is Kirkwood, beginning April 4, 2012.
On the jib side, Tyler Duncan and Will Hibbs recently returned from the Dumont Cup at Sunday River, ME where they both made the semi-finals – yeah boys!
On the local level. Skiershop Riders Noah Ranallo and Colby Vavolotis continued to dominate the Ski The East Freeride Tour. Following the tour’s final stop at Jay Peak, VT, Valvolotis emerged victourous as the tour winner. For Ranallo, the Jay Peak competition marked the second time he won the Cliff Huckstable Big Air Award – Congrats boys!

The Dumont Cup – Simon Dumont’s open invitation slopestyle competition wrapped up last weekend in Sunday River, ME. The event allows pro and amateur skiers to go head to head in a jam style format with skiers then progressing to semi-finals and finals, and has been a coming out party for young rippers on the cusp of turning pro. This year Nick Goepper took the title followed by Gus Kenworthy and Jacob Wester.
Events like this are great for local talent especially here on the East, where it sometimes can be hard to get noticed. Naturally our local jib crew from MMSC’s Freestyle Team led by head coach Ben Grunow also cruised over to the event. Below are a compilation of pictures that Ben shot during the comp, needless to say the kids threw down. Nice work boys!
